Azalea's Arrival

So this is what we do when we are waiting for a new sister to be born!!! Her crib was set up so he thought he needed a cute little place to sleep too :)
Happy Iron just waiting with Daddy!

So we flew to the hospital in about 5 am in the morning thinking we had better hurry!!! But then we learned that we had PLENTY of time to take pictures and take walks and eat and do anything we wanted!! But then after a LONG time we realized that Azalea didn't want to come the traditional way ... she had to come by c-section. I on the other hand was just wanting to be done with the whole labor and delivery thing ...

So here is the first picture of our little girl!!! She had a little trouble right at the start with O2 but that was fixed quickly. And she had a Huge bruise on her head from trying to see the world!

Trying to include boy after the whole thing ... he was really missing us and worried about us so Mimi and Iron decided to come to Fort Collins to see Mom, Baby and Daddy ...
Little Azalea ... Happy little baby, bruise and all! :)

Our wonderful hospital room, although by day 5 I was getting sick of being there ...

The reason we had to stay SO long was the weather and Azalea's Bili Reuben ... She decided to turn a nice shade of orange on us and had to be put on a Bili bed ... I could only hold her to feed her and change her diaper :( But her numbers changed fairly quickly.

She liked to sleep on me and I really wished that is what she could do!!! Love snugly little ones!

Getting ready to go home!! So excited to go home and start life with our new little family!!!

And we HAVE to wear hats!!! Its cold outside and besides, aren't they too cute!

So we got home with a Bili of less than 16.4 thinking everything would be just fine ... The Dr. in Fort Collins made it clear that she needed a check-up on Monday ... So Monday at 5 pm we took her in for another Bili and found out that it was 21.3 ... she needed to be put back into the hospital. We chose to put her in Sterling hospital because it was close to home. Here she is under the double Bili lights with her sunglasses on ... that we fought all night long so that the light didn't hurt her eyes.

Noland and Iron would come keep me company in the evening and Noland spent some nights too. We were there for 3 days ... By then we were all sick of the word hospital!!!

Going home from the hospital for the second time ...

Iron sharing his toys with his baby sister ... Clifford is bigger than her :)

The Bili blanket that we had to keep on her at home because every time that we would stop the light therapy her numbers would start to climb again.

Adjusting to life with 2 children
Azalea, how are you even comfortable with that arm around the back side of you like that??

Daddy holding his new baby with his special way of walking the floor that would put her right to sleep!

So I was trying to take her baby announcement pictures and she decides to be a big girl and lift up her head and look around :) Silly girl!

Cute little shirt made for cute little pic!

"I am not so much into the hat mom, but I LOVE my binky!"

Her announcement picture!

All sweet and curled up!
Love my baby girl! parenting with two kids has its challenges, but all is good now that she is my healthy little girl!

  1. So happy for you and your family!! She is a cutie! I remember having a similar problem with the biliruben count . . . not fun. Our daughter had her little boy the 27th of Feb., by C-section also! His heart rate dipped pretty low with a contraction before they even started inducing, so immediately did a section. Glad it all turned out OK for you!!
