More January

So we are still in January and waiting for a new arrival! I have had to remind myself that my due date isn't until the 31st! So baby isn't late! But we are having good days with a boy! Days when he talks about waiting and waiting until baby comes and then baby will pop out because that is how babies come :) I love his view on things! It is so simple and great! He walks around the house a lot and tells me "I love you mommy!" It is SO great to hear those words!

So this is my latest project... I have all the pieces washed and mostly ironed, am just waiting for the time to start it :) As if I thought I would get more free time in the near future! But anyway I would like some opinions on the fabric choices if anyone would like to share! I know all you non-quilters out there you can just ignore this picture :)

So school work has been going really well! Once in a while I have to remind him that school work is serious stuff and we can't just be silly with it, but his mind is like a sponge and is amazing!! He knows most of the alphabet already but the numbers are a harder concept for some reason. But he still asks for school every day so I consider that a great thing in its self!!!

And now we know how to spell butterfly!!!

Mimi helping with school work ... counting butterflies!

Such a happy big brother!!! We finally set up the crib in the "nursery" a corner of our room.

The pink sparkly shoes that he bought for baby!

So we are all set up and ready to go! We had to keep putting blankets in the crib because Iron thought that baby would get cold without them!

Mid January School

So mid January is kind of dull around here… The most exciting thing is that Iron has shown a HUGE interest in school!!! He tells me everyday that he wants to do his school work or his teacher will get mad … I wonder if it has dawned on him yet that I am his school teacher?? So I am a little behind with taking pictures, here is him working on the letter A and understanding the days of the week and the weather. Today we start on the letter B. We are getting quite far with our numbers! I am so HAPPY that he wants to learn!!! A huge special thanks to Jodi Krisher who helped me find the right resources!!

An uneventfull New Years

So our New Year's was very blah .... on purpose! Andrew V. came to spend some time with us ... which was really great but then Noland was out on call most of the weekend! We did manage to find some time on Sunday evening and Monday to play some games though! Happy New Year to All!! Our New Year will hopefull get more exciting in about 26 days!!!
Iron probably had the most fun when Andrew and Dad played ball with him!

I had to get a picture of the favorite blanket in our house before it is used to tatters!!! So glad Noland had it when we got married! :)
So I finally got a project done!! Noland's quilt that he has been waiting for for a REALLY long time. He picked the colors and I picked the design. Its the heaviest quilt I have ever made ... he requested two polyester blankets be put in it for batting! At least it is warm! Glad he can enjoy it now! (I am sure that no one can tell!)
